چکیده
Even if it is a long time since Canute ruled the greater part ot the Scandinavian countries and Britain, they have always been str?ngiy linked by interest and affection and the War has drawn em closer still. Visitors from either side have been quick to feel at home, so much so that it comes as a surprise to them that the anguage spoken is not their own. This situation is in one direction ^uch improved, for English (and even American) is widely underwood in Norway, Sweden and Denmark and is increasing in inland.
